The UNH Computer Science curriculum emphasizes the fundamental concepts and skills underlying modern computing and its applications, ensuring that our graduates are well-prepared in an ever-changing field. Our students develop a solid foundation in science and mathematics and become adept at problem-solving and abstract thinking. Students also gain a solid footing in software engineering. Since the major tenets of our curriculum are not just about teaching our students to program, our graduates succeed in a wide-range of professional jobs and in pursuing advanced degrees.

In the Spotlight


Congratulations to the FIRST Lego League Team, EPICBot, who won the Seacoast Regional Competition! The team, seeded from students who attended UNH EPIC Camp the past two summers, is made of 4th - 6th graders from three different school districts in the area. Coaches were two CEPS students: Matt Mayor (Computer Science) , Simon Popecki (Mechanical Engineering), CEPS’s formal internship and career development counselor Nicole MacMillan and Karen Jin, CS Lecturer.

Student Opportunities

UNH InterOperability Lab

The University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL) tests networking and data communications products. It is the only full-scale, non-profit test lab in the world that balances industry expertise with the real-world training of future engineers. More than 100 graduate and undergraduate student employees work with full-time UNH-IOL staff, gaining hands-on experience with developing technologies and products.

The UNH Programming Assistance Center (PAC) is a place where students can get help with programming assignments and studying for exams.
